Hey, Knotty ones! It’s been a little while since we last chatted, and now the leaves are a-fallin’, the nights are getting longer and Winter’s a-comin’. And we’re now EIGHT years old, too!! Eight!

Good gravy, how the time flies. And now that most of us have had a spook-tacular Halloween and a turkey/tofurkey-tastic Thanksgiving (ok, well at least the most important people in the world had their Thanksgiving already, and by most important we mean CANADIANS.), we’re setting our sights on the even more exciting events surrounding the last few months of the year. Yep, you all know it, that’s right, all together now… Life Dayyyy! The most important Wookie holiday of the year in Star Wars! Hoorayyyy! Oh - no? Wait, sorry, just kidding, make that Festival of the Bellllls, the midwinter celebration in Fraggle Rooock! No? Uhh… Roman Hedgehog Day? Hm… Feast of the Circumcision? (delicious, we hear) Agnostica, the celebration of the birth of quantum physics? HumanLight, the recently invented Secular Humanist midwinter festival? Ok, fine, FINE. Because it couldn’t possibly be Christmas or anything else so terribly religious as Santa Claus in this overly PC Age of ours, lets just settle on the day invented by Frank Costanza from Seinfeld: Festivus! For the rest of us! From this point on, we declare all references to Wintery celebrations in the following Knotty Boy eZine will be referred to as Festivus. Hooooray!

*ahem* Alright, alright, let’s get serious already - onward with our VERY serious Knotty Boy Winter eZine!

First and foremost, we are delighted to announce this season’s fabulously talented and now gorgeously outfitted Knotty Boy Sponsored Kidz - drumroll pleeease!!

Wendy ‘Queen If the rails’ Robinson
Whistler, BC, Canada
Yes, and she snowboards in a tutu!

Six of internationally-acclaimed rap group Kele 6
Tel Aviv, Israel

Congrats, chosen ones! For all the pics and details on these cats, check out the Knotty Boy Sponsored Kidz page of our website. We received so many applications from truly amazing individuals, it was really hard making a decision, but for those who want to take a stab at the next round the deadline for submissions is April 2007 so LOADS of time to send us yer stuff!

Oh yes, its true – we’ve officially entered the swirling time-sucking vortex of this FOX/NewsCorp-owned mega site in response to so many of you begging for a place to meet other Knotty kids out there. So don’t say we never did nuthin for you lil’ ingrates! But for all our belly-aching, we do agree it IS an awesome opportunity to get to know the rest of your Knotty family. Woah, last count we’re up to 350 members in just a few weeks! Click on the image below to check out our latest little corner of cyberspace…

Also our Myspace profile music gets rotated weekly, so if you think your favorite song is worthy of being ‘This Week’s Knotty Tune’, drop us a line telling us what song and why. And don’t forget to check the Blog and Bulletins for the latest in Knotty news and special offers.

Please note - KnottyEmma who runs most of our Knotty Boy customer service including the Knotty MySpace show, is a very busy little bumblebee and will NOT be replying to dreadlock or order questions sent to us there. If you have a question, first have a read of the FAQ pages which are packed with everything we know about dreadlocks, and if you still need help drop us a line at customerservice@knottyboy.com

Indhumathy Murugan, India

You’ve gone and done it again, you Knotty kids!! Thanks to your extra $1 contributions upon checkout from our website, meet our most recently sponsored cutie, little 4½ year old Indhumathy Murugan from India.

(Don’t worry, Indhu, we hated picture day, too.) Indhumanthy’s mum works as a laborer, and her father recently passed away, so it’s been sad times for this family with very little money to go around, on top of it all. But not only have you guys directly impacted Indhumanthy’s life by helping to provide her with a year’s worth of food, clothing and schooling she otherwise would not have had, you have also helped this hurting planet by choosing a better packing-material option for your order – and that ROCKS. For us, this is called ‘purpose beyond profits’ and is a driving force behind everything we do here at Knotty Boy. Keep on helping us make a difference through our Eco-Packaging/Child-Sponsorship fundraiser here, and thank you again for your support!

In case you missed last eZine’s big fat announcement about Knotty Boy’s very first product to be launched in our new line of Knotty Boy Natural Essentials for Every Body, here’s a quick recap, just cuz we’re so dang excited about these amazing bars.

So here’s the scoop! Unlike our dreadlock-specific shampoos, the new Knotty Boy All-Purpose Shampoo Bars are formulated for all hair and skin types, and we really mean that. Because these soaps are created using small-batch, traditional cold-process methods, the result is a baby-mild, creamy, high-foam soap – naturally – making them safe for use on everyone, from babies to G’pas to pets. The quality of the ingredients used in the All-Purpose Shampoo Bar makes it also very dense, lasting up to three times longer than most soap bars!

Another fantastic feature is these bars are ideal for all kinds of travel and camping, as they are 100% biodegradable, mountain-stream friendly just like the Knotty Boy Dreadlock Shampoo Bar, and beats the heck out of carrying around liquid shampoo, face-wash or soaps that might explode in your bag. Use for washing everything – hair, bods, clothing, dishes – the Knotty Boy All-Purpose Shampoo Bar is truly all you need out, both out there and in the home. Try the All Purpose Shampoo Bar Variety Pack featuring one of each juicy fragrance, and save $2! (Know any mountaineers that would love to find one of these in their stockings this year? hey, we’re just sayin’…)

Also a heads-up – the cute but temporary label pictured above is going to be replaced with a new, kinda psychedelic 60’s rock-poster style label that will better represent the entire new line within the next few weeks. Hope you like it!

As “Festivus” (see eZine intro for a refresher on other such politically-correct winter celebrations) is typically a season of PARTIES, what better way to make your locks look smashing then with some of our NEW beautiful beads, pendants and sleeves?

Knotty Boy is pleased to announce the arrival of these stunning new additions…

The Big Silver Bruiser, aka The Wrecking Ball (and yes, it just might stun AND smash you if you aren’t careful.) / Chinese Ceramic Flower Pipes / Silvery Butterfly Pendants / TITUS THE TURTLE (Titus, you’re just too cute. Especially when Emma says ‘Toi-tus’ in her extra-cute Engerlish accent.)

Knotty Boy Holiday Order Mailing Deadlines
You’d better watch out, you’d better not cry cuz Santa’s shopping at Knotty Boy early so you better tell him what you want now. *aaaand just pretend that rhymes.* Remember folks, your Knotty goodies are being sent out from the far-out Land of Moose, Poutine and Mary Jane (aka Canada), so make sure you give us plenty of time for your stuff to arrive. To receive orders by December 25th by regular air mail post, the mailing deadline is November 27th for Africa and Central/South America, and December 4th for the rest of the world.

Of course, if you miss these deadlines, all is not lost. The following services are also available - they just cost a little more:

EXPEDITED USA 8-14 Business Days
X-PRESS POST USA 5-7 Business Days
X-PRESS POST INTERNATIONAL 7-12 Business Days

It’s getting closer to the end of the eZine, and that means its time for everyone’s favorite part...

This month, pick up $40 or more in Knotty Boy gear (before shipping), and receive one of our wicked Knotty Boy cotton drawstring bags FREE, to keep all your stuffs clean and together in one place! (You are, of course, welcome to add additional items to this order if you choose.)

To claim your free Knotty Boy bag, upon checkout, in the ‘Comments’ section of your order form, enter the following secret message to Michael, Master Order Packer of Zee Knotty Varehaus: ‘Ich bin ein eZiner! The last red leaf of Fall has been crushed to compost under the angry boot of Winter, therefore I must receive a free Knotty Boy (choose ‘orange logo’ or ‘blue logo’) drawstring bag forthwith, good sir Michael!’ See? It’s just that easy, but only until December 15, 2006, and then – no bag for you!

Last but not least, as we hard-working Knotty Boy employees also need to take some well-deserved time out for gift-opening and cracker-popping, please note the following Holiday closures for the Knotty Boy Lock Shop and Salon and Knotty Boy DreadQuarters:

Closed
Friday December 22nd @ noon
Monday December 25th
Tuesday December 26th
Monday January 1st

Of course, the Knotty Boy website will be up and running for your purchasing pleasure, just in case Santa err… Festivus, uh, Womyn (?) brought you some extra chedda this year and you’re overdue for some dreadlock renewal. Do note: Miss KnottyEmma of Customer Service is heading back to jolly ol’ England for the break and won’t be processing order returns until January. Emma thanks you in advance for understanding, and will be thinking of you all while munching on her Festivus pudding, perhaps in celebration of the Feast of Circumcision. *…what IS in that pudding…?*, we wonder to ourselves.

Sick.

AND with a touch of nausea, we conclude this wonderful Wintery Knotty eZine. Hopefully we’ve managed to warm the cockles of your hearts just a little, with visions of sugar plums, Coco-Knotty Dreadlock Conditioning Spray and Tropical Tightening Gel dancing in your heads – holiday treats for your locks! Joy!

Oh, and if you lovely-locked folk dig these eZines and the other stuff we do here at Knotty Boy (or hate it – don’t worry, we can take it!), please tell us by filling out one of our fun Knotty Boy Official 5-Second Surveys. Let us know how we’re doing and how we can be even better for you, and the rest of this Knotty family.

Ho ho ho, and we’ll see you again in 2007!! We love you!!
