DIY Vinegar Itchy Scalp Remedy

By Knotty Boy

dreadlock vinegar rinse

A step-by-step on how to create your own vinegar for itchy scalp rinse.

If you are going crazy from scalp itchies but are simply too broke to pick up some of our tried-and-true Knotty Boy Dread Shampoo or Peppermint Cooling Spray to treat it, there are a few other natural things you can try before resorting to gross-smelling, poison-filled medicated shampoos from the drug store.

A Vinegar Rinse will not only help kill the itch, it removes built-up residue from hair follicles and helps to restore the scalp's natural pH level, which may also be contributing to the itch.

Caution: Even though this solution is quite diluted, you don't want to burn an irritated scalp. Discontinue use if increased irritation occurs.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • If you find the solution too weak, beef up the vinegar a little but be careful, and keep it way out of your eyes. If it's too strong, add more water to the bottle.
  • Keep the solution in your shower or nearby to spritz away the itchies up to three times per week.
