Wax as often or as little as you need to - the point is to keep everything together so that your dreads can form faster, so if they feel like they're falling apart or getting messy, just add more wax. Most people with new locks find that they need to wax about twice a week, or after they wash and have completely dried out their locks. As time goes on, they find they use it less and less, and eventually they’ll just need it for keeping their locks conditioned and healthy.
