Is there any bad hygiene involved in having dreads and doing things that cause you to sweat?

Nope, there is no bad hygiene because you can shower like normal after exercising. As for sweating, people dip their dreads in the ocean to tighten them up all the time, so since sweating is about the same, not to worry! Just have a shower after if you think they need a rinse.

article I first put dreads in my hair about a year and a half ago. Things were great until a month ago when I ran out of your bar soap and instead bought a bottle of selson blue to cute my crazy itchy scalp. it was pretty nice at first, it made the roots of my hair pretty nappy, but after about 3-4 days, the bearable fragrances drifted off, and the main ingredients stench crept forth: sulfur. the smell was horrid! anyhoo, i havent used that crap for about 2 months, but everytime i wash, i can still smell the sulfur, and so can others. i've tried tons of things, but the smell is there. now that i think about it, had i started off buying another shampoo bar, i probably wouldnt be in this situation, but im now wondering if there is anything i could possibly do to lift the smell of sulfur out of my hair? The constant washing also means my hair is constantly damp and it's musty now too. Double-whammy of stank.

article I've bought a Knotty Boy Basic Dreadlock Starter Kit, but I haven't got started yet because I'm not sure how things will look, due to my grey hair. I've dyed my hair dark brown/black for years and it grows back grey/white at the roots. Regular coloring obviously necessitates regular washing, which I don’t think will be ok for new locks. I chose Dark Wax in my Kit, in the hope that might disguise my grey new-growth. Any hints and tips you could offer would be great!
