That depends on your definition of temporary. For a weekend? Theoretically possible, but a lot of work, not to mention scalp strain both from sectioning & backcombing, and removal / combing out.

The backcombing which tangles hair together into dreadlocks can be difficult to get out, but if you are wiling to put in the time, follow the instructions here, and avoid using Dread Wax. The Tightening Gel, with its lighter, wash-out formula, makes a good alternative.

If your plan is to lock your hair for a few months or more, then removal may be more difficult. Try to carefully pick and comb out a section - if you're seeing excessive breakage (some shedding is normal), then we recommend the Emergency Dreadlock Removal Kit to help the process along.
