Loose dreads need a little tightening? Knotty Boy LockSteady Tightening Gel is what you’ve been waiting for! Utilizing the age-old natural dreadlock accelerating properties of pure aloe vera gel and citrus oils, and combined in a smoothie of vitamins, hemp seed oil and other good stuff for maximum hair repair, this great-smelling party-in-a-jar is a light, wash-out formula designed to tighten new and already-developed dreadlocks, and bring loose hair and frizzies under control instantly. And it’s all-natural!
Knotty Boy LockSteady is designed to be an alternative to using concentrated salt-based dreadlock accelerator sprays. Although we acknowledge the use of sea salt as one method to tighten your locks, homemade solutions should be very diluted and used carefully. Sadly, other dread-accelerating products are notorious for badly damaging dreadlocks, causing excessive dandruff, breakage and very serious salt burns to already-sensitive scalps, often leading to the loss of dreadlocks completely. (This is true, we have the emails!) Knotty Boy Locksteady Dreadlock Tropical Tightening Gel effectively accelerates the natural dreadlocking process without the use of harsh salts, but rather by employing the restorative and strong-binding properties of pure aloe, which has been used traditionally by Rastafarians to groom and strengthen their locks for decades. A lighter formula than Knotty Boy Dread Wax, this gel is designed for use on both new and long-developed dreadlocks to accelerate the natural growth process, tighten loose dreads and minimize frizzies!
Directions: After washing and rinsing your dreads, palm-roll small amounts of gel into damp dreadlocks. A pea size amount of gel in the palm of your hair is plenty for 1 -2 dreads, and avoid the scalp to prevent aloe-flakes and over-drying. Allow to air-dry, or use a hairdryer on ‘low’ to dry dreads. Use after each dread-wash, approx. 1-2 times a week.
New Tip! For a quick lock-tightening on the go, try adding 1 part gel to 3 parts water in a spray-bottle, shake well and spritz!
