This is Sanghlupuii Vanlalsawma Hrahsel and she is 8 years old, from Maharashtra, India. Sanghlupuii has one brother and three sisters, loves to sing and is highly intelligent and eager to learn. She once learned the Lord's Prayer in less than a week! Her father is a rickshaw driver but gets very little work and struggles to make ends meet for their family of six. Sanghlupuii will now be attending a boarding school nearby where she will receive regular meals and education.

Letters: February 11, 04 OK, get the tissues, this two letters had a few of us almost in tears. "My dear sponsor, Thank you so much for your kind help. My name is Sanghlupuii and my pet name is Sangbawihi. I am 8 years old, and I am studying in 3rd std. I like to study maths and drawing. I love to draw picture very nice. I learnt many things from her like reading, good writing and craft. My school is also very nice. I love my school and my teacher. Thank you so much for your love. I love you. May God bless you. "My dear sponsor, I want to wish you 'Merry Chirstmas' and 'Happy New Year'. In my hostel we made beautiful Christmas tree. We put up balloons and colored light. And I did not tell you about the big star. It is as big as me. Our hostel is shining in the night. I am not going home exams. I have to travel for 7 days to reach my home. I love you. Your daughter, Sangbawihi " OK, is that not the cutest thing you've ever read?? *sniff* We were also sent a report card showing that she's an A student and that she would like to be a teacher when she grows up.
Spring 2006 Dear Sponsor, How are you? I hope you are fine by the grace of God and thank you for giving me a lovely gift and I always remember you in my prayers. How is your climate? Here, winter season started. It is very cold, we always warm ourselves and in my gifts I got a dress and purse. Thank you so much. My teachers are very good and kind to me. Summer 2006 My Dear loving sponsor, How are you? I hope you are fine by the grace of God. I am fine over here. And I am trying my best to write final exams. I want to get I or II rank. And my sport had finish on January 25, 26, and 27. I also tried my best and in ball throw I got first, and in 200 metre I got II, and in 400 metre I got II but I did my best. I fainted but I did well and I was very happy and I was in red house and our house was winner. We got first prize and we all were very happy. We enjoyed that day. And when our sport ending came it was Friday. When we finished our sports we had a bath, we ate our supper and we went to church and we enjoy. How is your climate? Is it hot or cold? Here it is very hot. We are going to enjoy our summer holidays. I will join this school next year because I like my teachers, food and all our campus members and I like each and everyone in this school. And I always pray for you and your family too.
